Dear Seton Families,
The annual Easter Daffin’s Candy Sale has begun! Please look for the Daffin’s Candy Flyer in Friday Folders today! The money raised from this sale will be used to purchase our online grading and attendance system, Common Goal Systems, and our emergency call system, School Messenger. Additional funds raised will be used to purchase much needed classroom supplies. Thank you for your help and continued commitment to Seton Catholic School.
Mark your calendars for a fun family game night on March 1, 6:00-9:00 in the Seton Cafeteria. Bring a snack to share, and PTO will provide water and lemonade. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is no cost to attend, and no RSVP is necessary. Questions? Contact Diane Hamilton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
March 6, 2019 begins the season of Lent. During this time, we reflect on Jesus’ journey to the cross through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. This year, we will be collecting money for Catholic Relief Services. On March 1, 2019, in Friday Folders, students will receive a rice bowl with information about Catholic Relief Services. We are encouraging students to earn the money by doing chores for their families and extended families.
Our goal is to help students understand and experience how their actions can help someone in need. Please spend some time talking to your child about how they can serve God by helping the poor.
In the main hallway during the season of Lent, there will be two glass jars representing our Rice Bowl Challenge. For every dollar donated, a scoop of rice will be added to the Seton Rice Bowl. This visual representation enables students to see how each person can change the lives of others, one scoop of rice at a time, and if we work together, much can be accomplished.
Stations of the Cross will begin on March 15, 2019. Students are to be in Mass uniform for Stations of the Cross. Please note times for each grade level on the school calendar. We welcome you to join us each week during Lent.
A Dress Down Day will be awarded to all students who had families and special guests attend Open House. Students who participated can dress down on Monday, March 4, 2019.
Please return all 2019-2020 Intent to Return forms to the office by March 8, 2019. If you need another form, please contact the office.
God Bless and have a wonderful week,
